Do you believe a “Hot Dog” salesman can make a HUGE impact on your business and YOUR life??

Ok guys….. The story below is not a new one… I have had a copy of this story in my wallet for over 15 years…. It was given to me by someone who took it out of he newspapers in the mid 60’s…. You can see from the attachment how worn, it’s become. I recently scanned a copy- in fear of losing it.
This story might be old- but the message will never be… Let me know what you think of it, share it with your friends…

There was a man who lived by the side of the road and sold hot dogs.

He was hard of hearing so he had no radio

He had trouble with his eyes, so he read no newspapers.

BUT he sold good hot dogs!

He put up signs on the highway- telling people how good they were!

He stood on the side of the road and cried: “Buy a hot dog mister”!

And People Bought!!

He increased his meat and bun orders and bought a bigger stove to take care of his trade-

He finally got his son home from college to help him out

But then something happened.

His son said, “Father, haven’t you been listening to the radio?

Haven’t you been reading the newspapers?

There’s a big depression!

The European situation is terrible.

The domestic situation is worse!

Whereupon the father thought, “Well, my son’s been to college, he reads the papers and he listens to the radio, and he ought to know”

So the father cut down on his meat and bun orders- took down his advertising signs and no longer bothered to stand out on the highway to sell his hotdogs.

And his hot dog sales fell almost overnight!

“You’re right, son” the father said to the boy,

“We certainly are in the middle of a great Depression” !!!

WOW! … was that something!! The bottom line is- Ignore what everyone else says… You can profit greatly during tough economic times…

Remember Warren Buffet says: “Be fearful when others are greedy and be greedy when others are fearful” Basically “Don’t follow the herd… LEAD the herd”

This article is a great example that shows people in our industry that there are alot of doubters out there but we should pay them no mind & keep moving forward. Mike , I would like to request on having a webinar about how to properly get a ach & merchant account opened because as I'm sure your aware of that we are considered high risk at it's very diffucult to get these accounts which makes it diffucult for us to run our business.

  2. Things are only as bad as you make them. Misery loves company and it can be a cancer to your business. Keep a Positive Mental Attitude and you can accomplish great things.

Mike — enjoyed your webinar today. Would like some ideas to assist larger companies with overhead costs, and streamlining process.

Great story and it appears to be relevant to today's economic situation, if you choose to believe all the nay-sayers. In my business, I like including stories or inspirational materials because folks with bad credit are most likely going through bad/negative times. Everyone needs a lift and I think positive stories may help their outlook and mood. May I use this story for my clients??

Mike today was my first webinar and I do like the video. As you probably already know, a person using more than one sensory tends to retain learned material better. Is there a way to get that FCRA paragraph you provide showing credit repair is legal? Thanks for your time.

Great article and so true. Hello Mike I attended your webinar today (June 9, 2010). I liked the discussion on FACTA 312. It will be interesting to see how this changes our industry. Hopefully we can deliver better service and results for our clients. I look forward to getting a copy of your Expose and your new books! One idea for a future webinar — it would be great if you could get someone from a bank or credit card company that will be involved in the operations side of responding to disputes to give us some tips/tricks when disputing with the data furnisher. Just like you did with Mr X on the Collections side of the biz. Thanks again! Great job on webinar.

This is Tina, out of Tennessee. Business continues to grow with the support and help through the software. I have found a few enhancement items that would help the software. Further, your Wed. webinar is a highlight in my week as I can’t get enough education in my field. The webinar helps me every week. I would like to have focused discussion time.

Once again you all have brought us great sources to help increase our business. It is very helpful to hear this information weekly and hear about expanding our business. That is how you help to grow this industry.
